The membership of Help People Help Themselves Community Based Organization wishes to express their profound thanks and appreciation to all those who in diverse ways have contributed to the successful donation of learning materials and used clothing to the children and people of Bissau community.

On Friday 23rd September 2011, representatives of Help People Help Themselves visited Bissau Community to distribute learning materials and used clothing. Among the members were Isaac Mansaray, Mohamed Turay, Mackhan Sillah, Jalikatu Dauda and Roland Daus. The community people gave members a hilarious and jubilant welcome. The reception was followed by a stakeholder meeting held near the school structure.

In the course of the meeting, members of SLCBO donated 170 back-bags and plastic files of books, pens, pencils, rulers, crayons, sharpeners and erasers. In addition, 200 plastic bundles of used clothing were also distributed to the children and their parents. The organization has also donated school uniforms to all school children to help reduce the cost on their parents.

These items were received in the presence of the Section Chief and Paramount Chief representative. In order for the items to reach their intended target, members of the organization played a significant role by hiring two vehicles and an outboard engine boat which conveyed the materials. In respect of this, the organization would also want to thank the local members who contributed both financially or otherwise to making this venture a reality.

While we continue to extend our gratitude to you all for trusting in our organization and supporting us, we would also like to inform you that there are more to be done in the area of establishing and enhancing the school. The school structure, toilet, water well and health clinic are all part of the current needs of the people. We would also be grateful if you continue supporting us help people help themselves.
