The target audience is children and young people. The center’s main goal is to provide a safe gathering place and that they can get the chance to learn skills they will have opportunities on their own. The creation of media-conscious young people, instead of relatively uncritical media consumers, will be a small contribution to creating a counterweight to a society that is flooded with cheap TV, but the important thing is that young people will gain a sense of belonging in a place with good people. Sierra Leone has a young population and unemployment is high. It is therefore important that someone catches them with activities that can engage them. The method is well known and successful in Norway and elsewhere in the world and we see no obstacle that this should work in Sierra Leone. The program will be started with help from people who have extensive experience from Norway and taken to local adults who have the spark it takes to lead this.
